Wishing you all a happy, healthy, fun filled and blessed New Year. May all your wishes come true!!!!!
One of my wishes is that 2012 will be less eventful than 2011 was for us. We have been on an emotional roller coaster that slowed down, but has not come to a complete stop so we will keep our seat belts on for a little while longer.
We have had a wonderful but very hectic holiday so far. It started with our trip to Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. We had 4 days visiting beautiful sites and seeing wonderful buildings. Unfortunately I got hit by a bug/food poisoning on the first day and I can tell you the public toilets were not the most pretty sites to visit... Thanks to my stash of Immodium, a handbag filled with toilet paper and no food for the rest of the holiday, I made it.
We arrived back in Bangalore in the middle of the night, had a long sleep and lazy day and left that night for The Netherlands. Needless to say we were all quite tired, but since Christmas was just 2 days away we had to do the shopping and decorating straight away.
We went to midnight mass on the 24th, had dinner at Adriaan's mother's on the 25th and had my family over for dinner at our place on the 26th. My parents stayed for a few days, so my mother and I went shopping.
When my parents left my brother arrived. Adriaan, my brother and the boys went indoor ski-ing in our town (I had a hot chocolate while looking at them coming down the slopes).
The last days before the New Year I caught up with friends, having a healthy dose of fun and laughter and some much needed time to talk.
Our two weeks here have almost come to an end. We will meet up with a few more people, but there are so many more we won't be able to see unfortunately.
I will post some photos of our trip tomorrow. I think we have about 400 photos and that is after going through all pictures we took and deleting quite a few. It was a trip to remember and it gave us an incentive to do a lot more travelling in India.
